How alert level 4 affects the Aberafan Shopping Centre

We understand that this is a challenging time and would like to reassure you that the wellbeing of our customers, retail staff and employees is our priority.

Alert level 4 restrictions came into force in Wales at 00:01 on Sunday, December 20. In line with the latest Government guidance, our centre will remain open. We ask that all visitors and tenants take these steps, which are consistent with Government advice:

  • Please do not come to the centre if you have had a new cough or a fever (Temperature above 37.8C). Seek and follow Government advice.
  • Practice social distancing - try to stay at least 2 metres (3 steps) away from anyone you do not live with (or anyone not in your support bubble).
  • Please wear a face mask within the centre unless under 11 years old or medically exempt.
  • Keep your hands clean, wash regularly and thoroughly, for at least 20 seconds with soap and water.

If you think you may have encountered the virus, please follow the government advice and self-isolate in the first instance.

We would like to thank our members of staff who are frontline workers throughout this pandemic, as well as all other frontline workers throughout the country and, indeed, the world.

We will continue to closely monitor the situation, keeping the health and safety of staff and customers as our top priority.

Thank you for your patience and continued support in these difficult times. More information can be found on the Welsh Government website here:
