Fresh hand-prepared food at Sinfully Sweet .Food
Here at the Aberafan Shopping Centre, we’re delighted to welcome a brand new eatery in the form of Sinfully Sweet .Food.
Run by Adam Perry and his fiancé, head chef Richard Tate, Sinfully Sweet .Food does exactly as its name suggests: produce some of the most delicious, fresh, home-made meals, cakes and confectionary.
With a combined 35 years of experience in the bar and catering trade, Adam and Richard have produced a varied and delicious menu of food choices, to cater to all tastes. Their aim is to ensure that everyone can enjoy a delicious dining experience – whatever their particular food preference might be – all at an extremely affordable price.
Sinfully Sweet .Food has an amazingly wide variety of food choices available, from all-day breakfasts, Mexican dishes, bistro options, and Sunday roasts, to afternoon teas and bespoke cakes made for special occasions.
All items are cooked from fresh, with nothing bought in frozen and reheated, so you know that – though you may have to wait a few minutes longer – what you receive has been prepared especially for you.
The menu also includes a wide choice of dairy free, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. With many of their friends requiring these sorts of dietary requirements, Adam and Richard have been particularly sensitive to ensure their menu is inclusive for all diners.
Originally hailing from Daventry, Northamptonshire, and with 11 years’ experience, Adam started in the bar and catering trade at the age of 17 and was running his own sports bar by the age of 21. At age 22, he was bar manager at the Mercure hotel chain. His move to Port Talbot has come recently, but both he and Richard feel they have found the place they can call home.
“When we came to Port Talbot, we felt at home straight away. It’s lovely to feel part of a community and both Richard and I knew instantly that this was the place we wanted to settle and start our business,” he said.
“We aimed to start in March last year but, of course, Covid arrived, and things were put on hold. Since then, we’ve done a huge amount of work and research to ensure that when we did open, we knew exactly what impact the restrictions would have in a catering setting, how to make the restaurant Covid-safe, and what kind of food offering would go down best with our customers.”
Head chef, Richard Tate, has 24 years’ experience in the catering business, many spent running his own very successful café in Daventry, which is still a thriving business today.
“We’ve done a huge amount of market research to make sure we are providing the food people want, at a price they can afford,” Richard said.
“We have Afternoon Tea’s available for just £7.95, and all of our menu is freshly prepared to our own recipes. All of our burgers are hand-made, and our home-made hash browns are a particular favourite for those enjoying our all-day breakfast.”
“We really aim to make dining out affordable for families, and our menu means you can easily feed a family of four for around £20 – all with the best, fresh, hand-made produce.”
Sinfully Sweet .Food’s bespoke approach to dining means they are happy for you to customise your menu choice – if you like the look of a dish but want to change one or two of the ingredients, that’s fine by them. They also offer a range of personalised cakes and bakes for any occasion, so just ask and they’ll do their utmost to accommodate you.
All of their food is available to take out and they are currently working on a delivery menu.
In the couple of days Sinfully Sweet .Food has been open, it has been very well received – to the point of almost running out of stock – and has noticed a number of return visitors.
Its opening hours are:
Monday – Saturday: 7am – 5pm
Sunday: 9am until 3pm, with Sunday roasts being served from noon onwards.
