Date: 25 January 2022 | By: Andrea Powell

Hideout Owner and Wales and British and Irish Lions hooker, Richard Hibbard, has announced his retirement with immediate effect.

The management and staff at Aberafan Shopping Centre would like to congratulate Richard Hibbard on a fantastic rugby career as he hangs his boots up for the last time.

We wish him all the best for the future and continued success as owner/manager of the wonderful Hideout Café, that is managed alongside Richard's wife Louise. They operate the café and rooftop terrace on the 1st floor here at the centre.

Richard played 38 international matches for Wales and three Tests for the Lions on the 2013 successful tour of Australia. He started his career with Swansea and made 175 appearances for Ospreys before spending four seasons with English side Gloucester, where he also made more than a century of appearances.

The Hideout Cafe is open Monday to Saturday from 9:00am - 5:30pm and Sunday from 10:00am - 4:00pm. Pop in for home cooked food and friendly service.
