Currently, library members are able to visit the library for the following activities:

  • Browsing
  • PC Use
  • Photocopying
  • Call and Collect

PC Use
You must book a 50-minute time slot to be able to use one of the PCs for internet browsing, job searching, printing and more. The library is currently running on a reduced number of computers and social distancing measures, so booking your time slot is essential before travelling to the library.

Call and Collect

The library is operating a Call and Collect service which will help to improve social distancing and safety for our customers. DVDs and CDs are currently unavailable to borrow, but we have lots of books and audiobooks for you.

The process is simple: Contact the library, request your genre and format (book/spoken word), then book in your time slot of arrival which is most convenient to you. When you arrive at the library, your books will be ready to collect in a new paper bag after being quarantined for at least 72 hours since previous use. Due to current conditions, we’ve increased our allowances, meaning you can borrow up to 10 books at a time, and keep them for 6 weeks.

Study tables

The library also has two study tables available for visitors to use. These are available to book by contacting the library on (01639) 763 490/(01639) 763 491 (if line one busy).

Book of the Month
The library has recently launched its new Book of the Month for both children and adults, which will feature one of its staff’s favourite books from each age group per month. The choice each month will be available to borrow from Port Talbot library. We’re looking forward to sharing more updates on the great books you can borrow at the library on our social media channels.

With so much on offer to browse and borrow at the library, we hope you’ll visit one day soon, and sign up to a free membership, if you haven’t already. The staff at the library look forward to seeing you soon!
