Art Competition prize presentation

18th December saw the presentation of prizes to the three worthy winners of the recent Richard Burton Centenary Exhibition art competition.

The presentation took place at Aberafan Shopping Centre in San Portablo Arts, surrounded by the displayed artwork from some of the judges who formed the judging panel, and attended by the winning entrants, along with their families and teachers.

Helen John, who spearheaded the competition, opened the presentation, thanking the winners, their families and teachers for attending, and explained that there were over 250 entries, making the judging process extremely difficult and highlightinig level of talent across the local area.

Aberafan Shopping Centre had graphics created and mounted of the winning artwork which the three winners each received, along with some chocolates. These were presented by Julia Harries, Aberafan's Operations Manager.

All of the children were clearly delighted and enjoyed the recognition, and the event really reinforced the fantastic community arts work being delivered by Helen John and San Portablo Arts within the Centre.
