On Friday, 8th May 2026, Centre Manager, Chris Morgan MBE, and Operations Manager Julia Harries were truly honoured and incredibly proud to attend The Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in recognition of their services to the community of Port Talbot.
Having been nominated by Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of West Glamorgan, Mrs Louise Fleet, it was a privilege to attend such a prestigious and memorable occasion alongside Their Royal Highnesses, The Prince, and Princess of Wales.
Chris and Julia were proud to represent Aberafan Shopping Centre and the wider community of Port Talbot at this very special event, celebrating the contribution individuals and organisations make within their local communities.
The occasion was a truly unforgettable experience and a moment of immense pride. Chris and Julia expressed their sincere gratitude to Mrs Fleet for her kindness and consideration in nominating them for such a distinguished honour.
