Thousands attended the Port Talbot Christmas Parade on 22nd November and the opening of Santa's Sparkling Lake - the annual grotto at Aberafan Shopping Centre.
The parade was proudly led by the Swansea Pipe Band, who brought excitement and energy as they marched through Station Road and into Aberafan Shopping Centre. Spectators lined the route to watch the colourful procession of Christmas characters, sparkling costumes, and live entertainment, culminating in a special appearance from Santa himself.
Once inside the centre, families followed Santa to the heart of the mall, where the Santa's Sparkling Lake grotto was officially opened for the season.
“We are thrilled to see such an incredible turnout,” said Chris Morgan MBE, Centre Manager at Aberafan Shopping Centre. “the Christmas Parade and the magically themed Grotto have become cherished traditions for our community, and today’s celebrations truly brought the spirit of Christmas to life. It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the festivities.”
The day was a great success thanks to the collaborative efforts of Aberafan Shopping Centre, Viva Port Talbot, and the Local Authority, whose support helped bring the festive event to life.
Santa's Sparkling Lake—complete with shimmering winter scenery, interactive surprises, and one-on-one visits with Santa—will be open throughout the festive season.
