Aberafan Shopping Centre was incredibly proud to sponsor the Community Champion Award at this year’s Mayor of Neath Port Talbot Citizen Awards 2025, at the stunning Margam Orangery.
Centre Manager, Chris Morgan MBE and Operations Manager, Julia Harries were delighted to attend the event and even more thrilled that this year’s award went to Susan Hughes – a truly inspiring local hero!
From running the Baby Basics Bank and clothing collections at St Mary’s Centre, to supporting Ukrainian families, organising children’s playgroups, table-top fundraisers, discos, and promoting the Welsh language – Susan’s commitment to our community is nothing short of incredible.
Her impact is felt by so many in Aberafan and beyond – and we’re honoured to recognise and support her vital work.
Mayor of Neath Port Talbot, Councillor Mathew Crowly has thanked Aberafan Shopping Centre for the continued support.
