On Friday 24th April 2026, we were honoured to be part of a truly special occasion celebrating one of our community’s most dedicated volunteers.
Mrs Pam Waite—affectionately known as “Poppy-Pam”—was presented with her British Empire Medal by the Lord-Lieutenant, Mrs Louise Fleet. This well-deserved recognition reflects Pam’s incredible commitment and many years of service supporting the Royal British Legion and our veteran community.
It was a wonderful moment to see so many people come together—veterans, family, friends, and members of the wider community—to celebrate someone who has given so much to others.
At Aberafan Shopping Centre, we are proud to support and celebrate individuals like Pam, whose kindness, dedication, and community spirit make such a lasting difference.
